Elder Camp clean-up days 2024
The camp clean-up days are coming up. All campers are welcome to join in with removing dead branches from last year's storms and helping level and clear sites for themselves and others who may not be able to attend a clean-up day.
May 12- We will have a planning meeting regarding the Hub camp and the Geezer Pleezer logistics from 10-12. All interested are welcome, plus it is a good time to take a walk and socialize.
May 18- Camp clean-up/work party from 10-2
June 15- Camp clean-up/work party from 10-2
Bring tools to clear and level your site such as rake, clippers, gloves, shovel, wheelbarrow and anything else that may be useful. A request has been placed for a huge pile of woodchips for site leveling.
Please, no digging, since this is an archeological site.

Elder Camps
Once you become an Elder, you are eligible, but not required, to camp in the Elder designated sites. Space at Elder camp is very limited. The Elder camps only have tent spaces.
There are three designated Elder Camps
The large Elder Camp is located next to Elder Hub.
It is located in a forest with large trees, is close to showers and parking, but it is on a slight hill. Camping is for 18 and older only. This site has approximately 80 spaces.
The South Woods Elder Annex Tent Site (SWEATS) is a smaller site located near Miss Piggy's lot in the south woods. It is shady and has flat ground. It has access to toilets and showers close by, but no water or electricity. This site has approximately 10 spaces.
Del Boca Veneta is our newest camp and is also in the south woods, near Trotter's field. It is shady and has flat, although uneven ground in places. It has access to toilets and showers, (although showers are not that close) but no water or electricity. Camping for 18 and older only. This site has approximately 20 spaces and may grow to 30-35 camps.
If you wish to relocate to the HUB Elder Camp, please contact
[email protected].
If you wish to relocate to one of the South woods camps, (SWEATS and DBV) please contact [email protected]
If you are a new camper requesting a space in one of the elder camps, please include your name, email, phone number, and approximate space need. (Tent footprint, and if you are requesting space for an SO)
Please read the Elder Camp Guidelines.

Elder Hub
Elder Hub is a place for all Elders and Fair Family to connect, gather and socialize. All are welcome!
It is located next to the Hub on Chickadee Lane.
Elder Hub is staffed by a host and many Elder Volunteers.
At Elder Hub you can get your tent tags, leave and get messages, charge your phone, get general information, and it is the main stop for the Geezer Pleezer golf cart.
A small camp kitchen provides coffee, tea and water and a place to prepare light meals.

Elder Camp History
Originally started by Kay Kintzley and Mary Barton. When they stepped back, Chris Browne took the job and Peggy Day was main assistant. When Chris Browne unexpectedly died, Peggy Day stepped up and automated much of the duties so that it would be easier for others to step in and help. Recently, Annemarie Hirsch joined Peggy as host, and now that Peggy has stepped back, Annemarie is the lead host.
Eric Nicholson is on the Elder Hub set up and take down team and is the lead person in pre-Fair poison oak removal. Larry Lynch created an accurate camp site map and has taken on the role of campsite lead handyperson.
